As part of the central region’s urban environmental improvement project, the Tam Ky sub-project has a total investment of 15.4 million USD which comes as loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the French Development Fund (AFD) and sources from the local budget.

The sub-project will build a system of drainage canals, regulatory lakes and dykes in order to prevent Tam Ky town from waterlogging. The Vietnam Construction Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex) has won the contract to build these works.

The sub-project will also upgrade the local solid waste treatment systems, improve hygiene conditions as well as raise public awareness of health and environmental sanitation, helping better local people’s living standards and boost the town’s socio-economic development.
